New student accommodation:
Skills in Partnership wanted to help to get the first of three bungalows finished by bringing in fresh
hands and skills.

The plan of action: ask for help from trainees we have trained in the past. 23 ex-trainee
plasterers, bricklayers and painters & decorators wanted to take part and help out over a long weekend, what a
blessing.
Over the next two weeks we boarded, insulated, plastered, and worked alongside the Gilead students. We
didn't get it finished for Christmas but we made a big dent in the amount of work still needed to finish the house
in the new year.
We hope to go back and help build two more bungalows by working alongside trainees from hostels around the
country. This is an opportunity for these hostel residents to change their environment, learn new skills or use
what skills they already have. They gain new references and we believe there will be a positive change in the
trainees.
